Soviet Army Dosimeter DKP-50A DKP50
Measurement of ambient dose equivalent of gamma and X radiation
New antique stock
The DKP-50A was a dosimeter produced for the Soviet Army and nuclear power plant employees during the Cold War era. The DKP-50A radiometer shows the amount of radioactivity absorbed by the body. Each soldier was equipped with this device in the event of a nuclear conflict.
DKP-50A was worn attached to pocket or belt using the retainer clip. A ladder has a range of 0-50R (R = Roentgen, an old unit of X-ray and gamma-ray exposure). 500R in 5h is usually deadly.
The measuring range goes from about 2R to 50R. The dose can be read directly on the dosimeter scale.
Multi-use dosimeter with calibration and loading capability.
Overall dimensions - 132×19mm. Or eight is 33 grams.
HOW TO USE:
Put a bright light (torch for example) on one side (with plastic tip) then look through to the other side.
The DKP-50A radiometer is constructed of machined aluminum and comes with a small clear plastic cap to protect charging contacts. This cap must be removed before the dosimeter can be loaded and reset.
PLEASE NOTE:
this is not a standalone device and charger in a large box is required for this item, which is not included.
